Vaccinating the Prison Population Will Help Protect All of America | Opinion

The Center for Justice (CJR) Research, the Brookings Institution and the American Enterprise Institute urge leadership to prioritize prisoner vaccinations to stop the spread of the virus and protect vulnerable populations from a life-threatening illness.
In collaboration with Dr. Rashawn Ray, David M. Rubenstein Fellow at the Brookings Institute, Jason Eaton, the director of the UW Justice Lab at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Brent Orrell, resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, the Center for Justice Research had an opinion piece published in Newsweek titled Vaccinating the Prison Population Will Help Protect All of America, which outlines how prison staff and visitors have brought the coronavirus to incarcerated populations, its rapid spread among inmates, and how failing to vaccinate the incarcerated contributes to a public health crisis.
